"Service Cycle Protection Scheme" for Conveyor Belt Wear
Root Cause: Abnormal thinning and scratching of the cover rubber are caused by material impact, mechanical friction, or environmental corrosion, accounting for 70% of conveyor belt loss.Solutions:
- Impact Buffering at Material Feeding Points
- Install buffer idlers (spacing ≤ 300mm) or buffer beds (made of polyurethane material) to absorb over 80% of the material impact force.
- Equip the feeding point with ceramic liners (hardness ≥ Grade 9) to reduce the wear rate by 60%.
- Material and Coating Optimization
- For high-wear working conditions, select wear-resistant rubber conveyor belts (cover rubber thickness ≥ 15mm, Shore hardness 65-70).
- Apply a polyurethane wear-resistant coating (thickness 0.5-1mm) on the surface to improve wear resistance by 2-3 times.
- Local Repair and Replacement
- Cold Vulcanization Repair: For scratches with depth < 5mm, fill the defect with repair agent and paste a wear-resistant rubber sheet; the belt can be put into use within 2 hours.
- Local Replacement: When the worn section exceeds 10m, connect a new belt segment using hot vulcanization splicing to avoid full-belt replacement.
